SumiMa is a General Trading Company set up by Mr CHIA Kam Tong who worked in Sumitomo Corporation
Kuala Lumpur office from 1971 to 2001 after graduating with an Economics degree from University of Malaya
in 1971. Mr Chia's position was that that of Deputy General Manager of Sumitomo Corporation Kuala Lumpur
and Divisional Head of Chemicals, Plastics and Petroleum Products. SumiMa is owned by Mr Chia, 70% and
Mr PANG Hee Kin, 30%. Mr Pang is a venture capitalist and consultant to a number of companies.

SumiMa represents Sumitomo Corporation Tokyo and Sumitomo Corporation Asia Pte Ltd for basic
petrochemicals marketing in Malaysia under a Service Agreement. Sumitomo Corp supports SumiMa
financially and SumiMa works for Sumitomo Corp in return.

SumiMa also conduct general trading activities (domestic, import and export business) in the Malaysian
market and neighbouring countries. The current products being handled by SumiMa are petrochemical
based products including plastic resins, glue/adhesives for wood working industry, construction chemicals,
inorganic and specialty chemicals, minerals and petroleum products.

SumiMa have 8 employees and overseas representatives in China and Vietnam. “Daikoo” business sales
turnover of SumiMa is USD120 million per year and “shikiri” sales of MYR17 million.
